A new behind-the-scenes video of "Youth of May" was released and while it shows a lot of heartwarming moments among the cast members and the staff, what is the most interesting is how the main actors, Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si carried out their first kissing scene.

'Youth of May' BTS Video Released: First Kissing Scene Cute But Awkward

It's awkward but certainly cute, with the two of them trying to laugh off the uneasiness and joking their way through.

Among the many moments shared on the BTS video is how the two actors filmed their first kissing scene. Lee Do Kyun can be seen playfully squeezing his partner's Go Min Si's face, probably to lighten up the moment, which made her laugh. The actress then told the actor to hold her face naturally.

The video then showed Lee Do Hyun asking the actress if what he is doing is alright given their health differences. "Is it not uncomfortable for you because I'm bent over so much? Is it okay for you?" he asked. These questions highlighted how the actor is very respectful and caring of his onscreen partners.

Apart from the kissing scene, many of the moments showed in the video were of them joking around in between takes. These just highlighted how professional the two were because when the cue for them to get into character came on, they quickly go back to being in character.

Not only do they have perfect romantic chemistry, but they are also truly serious about giving their best to this drama.

Lee Do Hyun is A Funny Guy After All

In the same video, fans can show Lee Do Hyun having a funny side to him. While lying on the ground, he showed off his double chin, which prompted Go Min Si to cover him and warned him that the cameraman is filming. Instead of stopping, Lee Do Hyun said he's perfectly fine with it and further made the double chin more obvious.

Another funny moment in the video was when Go Min Si acted she's carrying her co-star, whose character was supposedly too drunk to do anything else but be a dead weight. When Go Min Si joked that Lee Do Hyun is heavy, the actor quickly defended himself by saying he did not eat breakfast and had a swell time in the bathroom to be heavy.

"I didn't even eat breakfast, and I went to the bathroom. [There's no way] I'm heavy..," he joked.

The fact that the main cast members are getting along so well could be the reason why "Youth of May" is rating so well. It was recently reported that its most recent ratings nearly caught up with tVN's "Doom at Your Service," which is a good sign.

"Youth of May" revolves around the budding love story between a medical student, Hwang Hee Tae, played by Lee Do Hyun, and a nurse Kim Myung Hee, played by Go Min Si. What will make the sweet romance between them go eventually awry is the fact that it happened in the aftermath of the May 1980 events, which are characterized as some of the most painful events in the history of South Korea.

The making-of video begins with Go Min Si, Heo Jung Do, and Park Se Hyun trying to carry Lee Do Hyun in a scene where his character Hee Tae has fallen asleep drunk. Go Min Si mouths at the camera, "He's heavy," and Lee Do Hyun jokes, "I didn't even eat breakfast, and I went to the bathroom. [There's no way] I'm heavy..."

Many more cute scenes can be seen in the video, which can be seen in totality below.

The video ends with footage of Lee Do Hyun giving a glimpse of his piano skills.
