First Gongjin Mystery: Hwa Jeong and Young Guk's Reason Behind Their Divorce
In the drama Hwa Jeong (Lee Bong Ryun) and Young Guk (In Gyo Jin) are both caught up in their unsolved problem in their relationship which caused them to separate.
Young Guk, like the Gongjin residents, doesn't know the sole reason for the divorce. All he knows is that his ex-wife hates him to death. Because of this, he resented her with his heart.
However, in episode 12, the much-awaited reason behind the divorce was disclosed. Hwa Jeong's hatred towards her ex-husband started after she accidentally overhears him talking to their friend about how he just married her out of convenience.
Because he pitied her, Young Guk decided to marry Hwa Jeong so that she wouldn't feel alone. On the other hand, Hwa Jeong never loved anyone with all her heart except Young Guk.

Hong Doo Sik (Kim Seon Ho) is admired by everyone around him for his kind nature and readiness to extend help to those who need it.
However, no one knows about where he had been for the past five years after he graduated from college.
In "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" Episode 15, their world seemed frightfully small after Doo Sik's past comes haunting him in his hometown.
It was then revealed that Kim Do Ha (Lee Seok Hyung), Ji Seong Hyun's (Lee Sang Yi) writer, is the son of the man who had been a victim of the bankrupt company he had worked for.
Because of the loss, Kim Do Ha's father attempted to take his own life and became paralyzed. Kim Do Ha, who was close to Doo Sik, blamed and resented him for it.
As Doo Sik wanted to make everything right, he and his friend Jung Woo (Oh Eui Sik) drove to the poor man's house but didn't anticipate the huge truck coming their way, crashing onto them resulting in Jung Woo's death.

Seon A (Kim Ji Hyun), Jung Woo's wife, also blamed him for her husband's premature death.
Since then, Hong Doo Sik believes that everyone he adores and loves soon leaves him.
Moreover, he shuts people out to drown in his own thoughts. But before the drama ends, Doo Sik gets surprised by unannounced visitors.
Do Ha, who thought about what happened rationally, asked for Doo Sik's forgiveness after he put the blame on Doo Sik, realizing that no one wanted the tragic accident to happen.
With this, the two friends started a new clean slate, leaving the heart-shaking past behind.
In addition to that, Seon A, who was unexpectedly related to Ji Seong Hyun, visits Doo Sik together with her son. Although she didn't take back all the hurtful words she said to Doo Sik, she gives him her forgiveness, marking their friendship.

As Mi Seon (Gong Min Jeung) and Eun Cheol (Kang Hyung Seok) go out on a date, the latter learns how the former wants to win the lottery pot money badly.
After asking her what she would do with the lottery money, he brings her to an empty lot near the beach, and envisioned a simple life in Gongjin.
Eun Cheol then confesses how he won the huge pot money in the lottery years ago, which shocked both Mi Seon and viewers.
Despite her love for money, Mi Seon doesn't really mind whether Eun Cheol had money or not. She still likes Eun Cheol for who he is, for his charms and kind personality.
