Earlier in 2021, media outletst reported that the hit Korean drama "Princess Hours" will have its remake.

This month, a production staff dropped names of Korean actors and actresses who are potential cast members of the upcoming series.

Kim Young Bae Drops Names of Korean Stars Who are Candidates to Lead 'Princess Hours' Remake

It was in March when Kim Young Bae, head of the content production division of Group Eight, a drama production company, confirmed that there will be a "Princess Hours" remake and is slated to start filming in the summer of 2022.

Since then, fans overly excited about the news. It has been said that the reason why they pushed to have a new version of the drama was because of the increasing demand from the public on social media. 

In addition, one of the producers revealed that because of the hype of the drama itself, fans from all over the world started to cast their votes on who they want to play the lead roles.

Virtual Casting for 'Princess Hours' Remake

Based on the virtual casting or poll, the public nominates Suzy, Kim So Hyun, Kim Yoo Jung, Kim Hye Yoon, and Park Bo Young to play the role of Shin Chae Kyung, originally portrayed by Yoon Eun Hye.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the role of Lee Shin, played by "Jirisan" actor Ju Ji Hoon in the original drama, the public sees potential in Park Bo Gum, Song Kang, Hwang In Yeop, Lee Do Hyun, Ahn Hyo Seop, and Kim Young Dae.

Kim Young Bae also mentioned that SF9's Rowoon and "Mr. Queen" star Na In Woo might be perfect for the role of Lee Yul (Kim Jung Hoon).

On the other hand, Young Bae said that either Han So Hee or Go Min Si are a perfect match to portray the character of Min Hyo Rin (played by Song Ji Hyo).

However, these are just some of the Korean stars who might be included in the final casting for "Princess Hours" remake. This MBC drama produced in 2006 received massive popularity over the years. The unique and beautiful love story of an ordinary high school girl who was arranged for marriage to a crown prince became one of the best Korean dramas viewers loved.

"Princess Hours," also known as "Goong," received an impressive high viewership rating of 26.6% during its run. Plus, this drama marked Yoon Eun Hye and Ju Ji Hoon's biggest break as actors.
