Girls' Generation YoonA on Being a Natural On Camera
Because YoonA started her career as an idol where a camera is pointed towards her most of the time, she became confident in her own skin. In the interview with Allure Korea magazine, she first talked about what attracts her to doing magazine photoshoots.
According to the idol-turned-actress, magazine photoshoots allow her to try out different styles within a short span of time. The camera angle when taking a photoshoot changes depending on her concentration, unlike during performances, her performances depend on the camera's angle.
"There's a different kind of energy that comes out of me when I look at a camera lens," she added.
When asked about what she is trying to show her fans today, she said, "I want to challenge myself to try new things. I've shown similar things about myself in the past and as I grow, everything changes as time passes by."
YoonA on Being an Idol and Actress
During the interview, YoonA looked back on her career as a member of the top girl group Girls' Generation and as an actress. She talked about why she ventured into acting and her future career plans.
YoonA mentioned that she never decided to focus on just one career but rather, the part of being an actress naturally dawned on her as she was doing performing and acting.

"I never had a definite decision to give up singing just to become an actress. It just happened naturally," YoonA honestly shared, "Life most of the time doesn't go as planned. I think it just happened because of my efforts, timing and luck."
'Happy New Year,' 'Miracle: Letters to the President,' and More
YoonA talked about her new film "Miracle: Letters to the President" and her similarities with her character Ra Hee, who has a realistic and smart personality.
According to the actress, she doesn't always pick her characters. She just realized that a lot of her character comes from the nature of being free-spirited, fun and intelligent when she receives the scripts for her dramas.
"I always aim for perfection as to reach my own standards. A lot of people describe me as someone who has a level-headed personality," YoonA shares with a laugh, "I just think I could do better. Because of the way I think, I am more attracted to these kinds of characters."
"Miracle: Letters to the President" follows the real-life story of a family in the 1980s, who survived living in a roadless remote area of North Gyeongsang Province, where they worked together to build a train station in their village.
YoonA worked alongside veterans Park Jung Min, Lee Sung Min and Lee Soo Kyung.
On the other hand, YoonA will also take on a new film entitled "Happy New Year" (also known as "A Year-End Medley).
