Lee Byung Hun Shares Update After Two-Week Battle with COVID-19

Lee Byung Hun took to social media to give fans updates about his health status. 

The award-winning actor and wife Lee Min Jung were diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 10. At the time, his agency, BH Entertainment, shared that the "Mr. Sunshine" star got tested for the virus but "has no serious health problems."

Lee Byung Hun's agency also pointed out that the actor has been fully vaccinated and has already received his booster shot. 

The same goes for his wife, who updated the media and fans about her condition through Lee Min Jung's agency MSteam Entertainment, noting that "the test result came back positive" and is "continuing to stay in quarantine."

According to the management, she acquired the virus from close contact while in quarantine.

Two weeks after his COVID-19 diagnosis, the "IRIS" star posted an update on his social media to let his fans know about his situation. 

Lee Byung Hun's Instagram contained a series of photos of the award-winning actor looking healthy as ever and appears to be out and about wearing his puffy jacket.

Over his caption, he expressed gratitude to fans who sent their well wishes while he was in quarantine. 

"I'm okay now. Thanks to everyone's concern," the actor wrote.

The 51-year-old star is among the cast of the record hit K-drama "Squid Game," where he played the role of Front Man. 

Following the survival game-themed Netflix series, he is set to headline the omnibus-style drama "Our Blues."

The star-studded cast lineup includes Shin Min Ah, Kim Woo Bin, Cha Seung Won, "Parasite" actress Lee Jung Eun, Uhm Jung Hwa and more. 

At the time of Lee Byung Hun's COVID-19 diagnosis, outlets shared that Studio Dragon, the production company behind the upcoming series, "immediately stopped" the production and required all the cast and crew to undergo testing. 

Fortunately, all except for the actor "received negative results."

Set in the stunning Jeju Island, "Our Blues" was initially set to air on April 2 but might be delayed due to the health crisis. 

Interestingly, the upcoming movie focuses on the ups and downs of life, showing the characters' sweet and bitter life stories.

In the forthcoming drama series, Lee Byung Hun took on the role of Lee Dong Suk, a guy born and raised in Jeju Island's countryside.

She will be paired with "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" star Shin Min Ah, who plays Min Sun Ah, a new girl full of secrets. 

Apart from his new Kdrama, the award-winning actor is set to headline a slew of new films; this includes the drama sports-themed movie "The Match" with Yoo Ah In and Moon Jung Hee.

He will also star in the much-awaited thriller sci-fi film "Concrete Utopia" with Park Seo Joon and Park Bo Young.

Lastly, the award-winning star is in talks to join the cast of the romance film "I Believe In a Thing Called Love."
