'Why Her?' and 'Doctor Lawyer' Show Strong Competition on Friday-Saturday Slot
On June 3, two new legal K-dramas premiered and were off to a good start. SBS' "Why Her?," starring Seo Hyun Jin and Hwang In Yeop, recorded an average rating of 6 percent nationwide during episode 1, ranking first in the Friday-Saturday time slot.

Its competitor, "Doctor Lawyer," which stars So Ji Sub and Im Soo Hyang, also started with a high rating of 5.2 percent nationwide.

Furthermore, "Why Her?" episode 2, which aired on June 4, garnered a viewership rating of 6.4 percent nationwide, proving the consistent positive response of the viewers.

However, "Doctor Lawyer," which also aired its second episode on June 4, had a slight decrease in its viewership ratings of 4.2 percent nationwide.

While both K-dramas are classified legal, "Why Her?" and "Doctor Lawyer" have different storylines. Apart from the plot, the respective leads Seo Hyun Jin and So Ji Sub made their small screen comeback through the dramas after hiatus.

Korean superstar So Ji Sub was on hiatus for four years after his series "My Secret, Terrius" concluded in 2018. Through "Doctor Lawyer," he takes on a dual role of a medical surgeon and a lawyer.
