Go Yoon Jung Criticized For ‘Flat’ Acting — ‘Alchemy of Souls’ Fans Demand Jung So Min Back

Fans are very much delighted with the return of "Alchemy of Souls" in the limelight! The drama took a four-month rest before finally surprising fans with 10 additional episodes in Part 2.

While the series paints the small screen with magic and romance, the public finds lead Go Yoon Jung's acting dissatisfying.

Go Yoon Jung Criticized For 'Mediocre' Acting

Prior to the premiere of "Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow," Go Yoon Jung has received major criticisms from avid fans for replacing Jung So Min as the lead star.

In the first week of its premiere, the drama stirred buzz in both domestic and overseas channels for its thought-evoking storyline which begins three years after Part 1.

While many viewers are delighted with the return of the series, a number of viewers have expressed their distaste with Jung So Min's absence.

They also criticized Go Yoon Jung's performance, claiming that her acting was lackluster and flat, having no emotions while delivering her lines.

In the series, Go Yoon Jung plays the role of Jin Bu Yeon and Naksu, the heir of the Jin clan who resides inside an assassin's body-both roles were played by Jung So Min in Part 1.

"There is zero chemistry between Go Yoon Jung and Lee Jae Wook. It's disappointing," one viewer commented.

Since Jung So Min left a strong impression, fans believe that some lines that were delivered by Go Yoon Jung would have sounded a lot better with the acting of Jung So Min.

Despite that, a few fans have defended Go Yoon Jung, saying that the actress should be given a chance to prove herself as the series just started.

Previously, Go Yoon Jung starred in the Cannes Film "Hunt" in which she earned multiple nominations as Best Actress.

Although Go Yoon Jung has appeared in many works since her debut, "Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow" marks her first major acting project.

While waiting for the new episodes of the drama, Go Yoon Jung's Cannes film "Hunt" is one of the best works to watch to get to know the actress better.

Despite bagging a smaller role, Go Yoon Jung charmed the public through Lee Jung Jae's directorial espionage film.

Go Yoon Jung simultaneously films "Alchemy of Souls" and her another fantasy series "Moving," along with Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung and more.

It's a webtoon-based work that depicts the supernatural lives of high school students who were born to parents with super powers. "Moving" is slated to air sometime in 2022 on Disney+ so stay tuned for more updates!
