The actor is confirmed to star in the forthcoming action movie "The Point Men," alongside Hyun Bin and Hwang Jung Min. The film is penned by "The Best Moments of Our Lives" and "Little Forest" director.

"The Point Men" revolves its story around the negotiation process between a diplomat and a local NIS agent, who traveled to Afghanistan to save Koreans, who were kidnapped by the terrorists.

Kang Ki Young is cast to play Lee Bong Han, also known as Kasim, a persistent Korean who survived in the back alleys of Afghanistan, imparting a vitality that only he can evoke.

A month before its scheduled release, Megabox Plus M introduced the actor's character and dropped his stills, giving a glimpse of Kang Ki Young's impressive transformation as an Afghan.

Kasim is someone who enjoys drinking and gambling. Only knowing he is a Korean, he completely changed the way he dressed and turned into a local who can pass as an actual Afghan person.

He used to earn money in a back alley, but Dae Sik (played by Hyun Bin) offered to become his interpreter for his special mission.

Kasim's proficiency in Afghanistan's language Dari and another popular language Pashto is one of the many things to anticipate from Kang Ki Young's character.

His indispensable role in the negotiation mission will add fun to the film.

Meanwhile, regarding his participation in the movie with Hyun Bin, the breakout star shared his eagerness to portray his character well.

"I felt the greatest charm in using new languages. I wanted to do it perfectly, and that's why I put all my energy into learning the language. I memorize the lines by learning them as if they were rap lyrics in a song."
