THIS ‘Under the Queen’s Umbrella’ Cast Struggles to Get in Shape After Losing Weight from Kim Hye Soo’s Drama
Yoo Seon Ho talks about the impact of filming the hit K-drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella."
The singer-actor is among the cast of the tvN series who took on the role of Grand Prince Gyeseong, one of the sons of Queen Im Hwa Ryung, played by Kim Hye Soo.
The 16-part episode series, which aired from October 15 to December 4, 2022, created a huge buzz as the story and cast lineup captivated the viewers.
Interestingly, this is also considered Yoo Seon Ho's big break after he showcased his flexibility as an actor.
Months after the historical K-drama ended, he revealed the aftermath of filming the series.
Yoo Seon Ho on Playing a Gay Role in 'Under the Queen's Umbrella'
The 21-year-old actor showed off his unique visuals for Star 1 Magazine and his collaboration with the skincare brand.
During the interview with the publication, he was asked about his thoughts on filming Grand Prince Gyeseong, who was later depicted by the series as gay.
For the actor, he confessed that he is not worried that his role will affect his image.
"I don't have that kind of fear," he said, adding, "I feel joy when I play such a difficult role."
To recall, the historical series revealed in the first half that Grand Prince Gyeseong, is a crossdresser who often hides in his secret sanctuary to dress like a female.
It was discovered by his mother, Queen Im Hwa Ryeong, but she chose to keep it a secret in order to protect her son.
As for his working relationship with Kim He Soo, Yoo Seon Ho has all the nice things to say about his senior.
"She is a precious senior, more like a teacher to me," he shared.
Due to the show's massive popularity, Yoo Seon Ho revealed that he received a lot of compliments and praise for his role in "Under the Queen's Umbrella."

The actor shared that he is "touched" whenever he reads and sees how the media and public appreciate the series, adding, "I felt like I was being rewarded for all my hard work."
However, it's not always rainbows and butterflies for the actor.
Yoo Seon Ho Spent 2 Million Won For Food Just to Gain Weight
Due to the intensity of the series, Yoo Seon Ho's weight dropped, making it harder for him to bulk up.
As his preparation for his upcoming project, he is trying to gain weight and has paid millions of won for food.
"Last month, I paid 2 million won for food alone. Even if I ate whatever I could, I only gained 6kg," he said, adding that he needs to work on his weight gain.

After his historical K-drama, Yoo Seon Ho is set to return to the small screen with an interesting project.
He will be reunited with Baek In Hyuk for the upcoming K-drama "The Story of Park's Marriage Contract."
Based on the webtoon "The Story of Park's Marriage Contract," it also stars "The Red Sleeve Cuff" actress Lee Se Young.
