Is Cha Joo Young's Acting in 'The Real Has Come' Disappointing? Here's What Viewers Say

Cha Joo Young showcased a brilliant performance in the record-breaking series "The Glory." However, as people expected a lot from the celebrity's next works, some are not satisfied with her acting in "The Real Has Come," sparking controversy.

Before appearing in "The Glory," she played minor roles with unique looks and a low-pitched voice. But after she starred in the Song Hye Kyo-led K-drama, many were excited to see her new projects.

Unfortunately, in "The Real Has Come," where she currently plays Jang Se Jin, the celebrity is said to lose the charm she previously had when she played as the flight attendant Hye Jeong in "The Glory."

Cha Joo Young's New Character Isn't Appealing to Viewers

In "The Real Has Come," Cha Joo Young portrays the role of an antagonist. But compared to her villain role in "The Glory," Cha Joo Young's current character lacks depth due to immersing herself in a poorly-crafted character.

In simpler terms, the actress' performance in "The Real Has Come" can't shine like in the Netflix revenge series.

As she interacts with other characters, Cha Joo Young's acting looks isolated from the others. The audience is also disappointed with her flat voice and dull expressions. Her character is supposed to build tension, but her performance fails to do so.

Meanwhile, Cha Joo Young is already being courted to star in her first lead role.

On May 9, her agency announced that she received a casting offer to headline the upcoming drama "Wongyeong," where she is expected to play the role of a queen.

If she accepts the work, it will mark Cha Joo Young's first lead role since her debut.

Once the cast is finalized, the production will start filming, and the drama might be released sometime in 2024.
