"The Roundup: No Way Up," which stars Ma Dong Seok Lee Joon Hyuk, and more, continues to live up to the hype as the sequel garners millions of moviegoers. 

as mentioned by a media outlet, the action packed movie has been getting an overwhelming response since its premiere on May 31. 

'The Roundup: No Way Up' Garners Over 4.5 Million Viewers Since Debut

According to a report cited by a local news portal, "The Roundup: No Way Up" has the potential to attract over 1 million moviegoers a day.

It was after Ma Dong Seok's new movie surpassed over 4.51 million viewers in just a week since the movie made its debut. 

On June 3 alone, the movie garnered 1,162,576 viewers, while on the 4th, the action crime film scored 1,072,231 viewers, making it a total of 4,512,386 viewers in the first week of release.

In addition,  Variety cited that the third installment made a whopping $22 million during the opening weekend. 

Due to this, industry officials predict that "The Roundup: No Way Up" might possibly receive the same success as the second sequel. 

To recall, "The Roundup," starring Ma Dong Seok and Son Seok Koo, which is the second sequel to the 2017 movie "The Outlaws," had a record-breaking release. 

At the time, it reached 12 million viewers and became the 14th Korean movie in history to receive such success. 

Apart from it, the action crime movie also beat the success of the Academy Award winning film "Parasite" as the top-selling movie release of all time. 

In addition, the sequel also bagged several awards at the 58th Grand Bell Awards, also known as the Daejong Film Awards.

Park Ji Hwan took home the People's Award for Actor category, and Best Editing and Best Cinematography are the recognitions that "The Roundup" received.

Ma Dong Seok returns as the top notch monster detective, named Ma Suk Do in the highly anticipated sequel "The Roundup: No Way Up."

Along with the third installment are the new villains, Joo Sung Chul and Ricky, played by Lee Joon Hyuk and Japanese actor Aoki Munetaka. 

"The Roundup: No Way Up," which officially hit the big screen on May 31, focuses on Ma Suk Do's new assignment. 

Along with his new team, he was transferred to the metropolitan investigation team and given the task of cracking down on drug criminals. 

On the other hand, viewers were surprised to see Lee Joon Hyuk's transformation as the antagonist.

In a previous interview, he revealed that he purposely gained weight to play the role of Joo Sung Chul.
