Lee Young Ae talks about her experience filming his K-drama comeback "Maestra: Strings of Truth," a remake of the 2019 French TV series "Philharmonia."

Taking on a challenging role, the top star shared the preparations she made to portray the role of Cha Se Eum.

Weeks before the premiere of the thriller-mystery drama, tvN dropped a series of snippets featuring the actress as a genius conductor, who also harbors a big secret.

On top of this, tvN also released a special video highlighting how professional and dedicated Lee Young Ae is for her new role.

Lee Young Ae Says Learning to Conduct is Physically Challenging

In a report, the actress has been preparing for her performance for over a year.

Lee Young Ae also mentioned that she had to learn to play the violin because her character, Cha Se Eum, went from a violinist to a maestra. The award-winning star also confessed that learning how to conduct is not an easy task.

During the behind-the-scenes video, Lee Young Ae described it as drawing pictures in an invisible space, and to do this, it takes a lot of physical strength.

According to her, it also came to a point where she got ill because of the physical challenge that it requires.

Lee Young Ae Earns Nickname 'Queen of Questions' on the Set of 'Maestra: Strings of Truth'

Before learning a thing or two about conducting and violin, Lee Young Ae had to undergo rigorous training and have a professional conductor coach her.

As mentioned by a media outlet, her conductor, Jinsol, described the actress as a "queen of questions" for her intense passion to learn.

In addition, her conductor coach praised Lee Young Ae's sincerity and said that she did not simply copy the movements of conductors but also explored the conductor's life with interest.

Other than her lessons and training, Lee Young Ae also visited the rehearsal stage for actual performances.

According to Jinsol, Lee Young Ae is very detail-oriented and would never leave out even a slight detail by also studying through books and videos.

'Maestra: Strings of Truth' Release Date, Cast

As mentioned, Lee Young Ae's new drama is based on the 2019 French TV series that depicts the story of a legendary conductor who was able to unveil the truths within her orchestra.

"Maestra: Strings of Truth" release date is set for December 9 at 9:20 p.m. KST, which will be available on tvN and Netflix.

Joining Lee Young Ae as lead stars are Lee Moo Saeng, Hwang Bo Reum, Kim Young Jae, and Park Ho San.

This is also Lee Young Ae's comeback to the small screen after her crime comedy drama "Inspector Koo."
