Lim Ji Yeon To Play Slave In New Historical Drama

On December 6, it was announced that Lim Ji Yeon is participating in the production of JTBC's new drama "Tale of Mrs. Ok."

The series follows the fierce survival story of a female slave in the Joseon Dynasty by faking her name, status and even her husband.

In the show, Lim Ji Yeon portrays the titular role of Ok Tae Young, a female attorney in Joseon. She is loved by everyone thanks to her innate sense of empathy and kindness.

Unbeknownst to everyone, she hides a huge secret that can change the views about her: her life, identity and husband are all fake.

Through "Tale of Mrs. Ok," Lim Ji Yeon challenges herself in the lead role, following the success of her K-dramas "The Glory" and "The Killing Vote."

Chu Young Woo Joins Lim Ji Yeon In New Drama

"Oasis" star Chu Young Woo also confirmed his participation in the show as Cheon Seung Hwi, a man who risks his life to protect Ok Tae Young.

He's a poet who travels around the country. Cheon Seung Hwi falls in love with Ok Tae Young, which is his reason to wholeheartedly dedicate his life for her despite her fake identity.

Ok Tae Young and Cheon Seung Hwi are expected to showcase an unconventional romance through the new JTBC series. In addition, Lim Ji Yeon and Chu Young Woo's synergy is also a key point to watch for in the show.
