Moon Chae Won Receives Invitation to Attend 2023 SBS Drama Awards + IOK Entertainment Responds
Various award shows are just around the corner. Coming from the three biggest broadcasting stations in South Korea, the SBS, KBS, and MBC Drama Awards will finally take place this December.
Ahead of releasing the nominations for each category, SBS made a headline reporting Moon Chae Won's attendance at the 2023 SBS Drama Awards.
Based on a news cited by a media outlet on December 7, Moon Chae Won will not attend the annual awarding ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on December 29.
In response to the report, the actress' agency IOK Entertainment stated that it is true that they received an offer for Moon Chae Won to attend the award show. However, the company added that they haven't accepted the invitation yet and are still in contact with the "Flower of Evil" star whether to accept it or not.
According to Moon Chae Won's side, the actress decided to discuss the SBS Drama Awards at a later date than not attending. Since there's no confirmed statement yet, the said award ceremony is not yet included in Moon Chae Won's schedule for this year.
Song Kang, Ahn Hyo Seop, More To Attend 2023 SBS Drama Awards
Moon Chae Won headlined the Friday-Saturday drama "Payback," which marked her screen comeback in about two years and three months after her record-breaking series "The Flower of Evil" in 2020.
The drama recorded an average viewership rating of 11.4 percent and ranked third as the highest series on SBS this 2023, following "Taxi Driver 2" and "Dr. Romantic 3."

SBS Drama Awards will take place to honor the talent and hard work of the actors and staff who exhibited brilliant performances in their works. Apart from Moon Chae Won, other K-Drama stars namely Park Sung Woong, Ahn Hyo Seop, Song Kang, Lee Je Hoon, Pyo Ye Jin, and Kim Tae Ri are also discussing their participation in the event.

Moon Chae Won's co-star in "Payback," Lee Sun Kyun who was embroiled in a drug scandal since October, is suspected to be the reason for the actress' absence from the forthcoming award show.
Meanwhile, veteran host Shin Dong Yeop and "My Demon" actress Kim Yoo Jung are confirmed to host the event. The 2023 SBS Drama Awards will be held at the Sangam SBS Prism Tower on December 29.
