Kim Hye Soo's Last Blue Dragon Film Awards as Host

Posted on YouTube channel PDC, it showcased a look back at the actress' journey as the event's MC for 30.

Wearing an all-black outfit and looking stunning as ever, Kim Hye Soo arrived at the premise with one mission: to "finish the ceremony safe and sound."

The video also featured her dedication as the host, rehearsing her spills while doing her makeup and doing her last outfit check to make sure that everything is fit and perfect.

In the video, JYP visited Kim Hye Soo at her dressing room to have a quick rehearsal.

Prior to this, he casually asked the actress about her decision to have her last hosting stint at the ceremony this year.

Kim Hye Soo explained that she has been doing this for "too long."

"This is my 31st year hosting the ceremony. With this year's ceremony, I will have hosted 30 ceremonies," she said, which stunned JYP, who asked her how old she was when she hosted her first Blue Dragon Film Awards.

"I was 22," she said, adding, "I didn't think I was too young for the job at that time. Looking back, I realize that I actually was too young. I mean, no 22-year-old hosts a ceremony. You're just a baby at 22."

Kim Hye Soo Receives Special Trophy at 2023 Blue Dragon Film Awards

Weeks before the annual event, organizers and the committee confirmed that the actress would be stepping down as host after the 2023 Blue Dragon Film Awards.

On the day of the ceremony, instead of just having a farewell speech to mark her three decades of participation in the annual event, she was given a special trophy handed out by award-winning actor Jung Woo Sung.

In her speech, the actress expressed her deep gratitude and honor for spending 30 editions of the Blue Dragon Film Awards.

Moreover, she also thanked everyone who supports Korean films.

Following this, fellow actors like Song Hye Kyo, Ha Ji Min, and more showed their respect and appreciation for the actress.

Ryu Seung Ryong also posted an Instagram story expressing his mixed reaction to news about Kim Hye Soo's retirement as Blue Dragon Film Award host.

The same goes for Song Yoon Ah, who took to Instagram and thanked the actress for "being the woman of the Blue Dragon for 30 years."

As mentioned, Kim Hye Soo hosted the annual event for 30 years, and because of it, she was named the "goddess of the Blue Dragon."
