On December 20, Lee Joo Myung announced her comeback to the acting scene after being in attendance at the exclusive press conference of ENA's new drama "Sand Flowers."
The actress returns with her first-ever female lead role. In the series, Lee Joo Myung plays Oh Yoo Kyung, a management team leader of a wrestling team.

She's also Jang Dong Yoon's Kim Baek Doo's first love. She becomes the reason why he continues to wrestle despite his desire to retire from the sport.
Lee Joo Myung described "Sand Flowers" as a work she "had to do" due to her fascination with its narrative. She said, "It's an exhilarating work. I fell in love with the drama even more because of my co-stars."
Because everyone was the same age, Lee Joo Myung had fun on the set of "Sand Flowers." The actress shared that the chemistry between the cast is one of the highlights of the work.

With this, she felt like viewers have high expectations of her, especially now that she's set to headline her own drama. She said, "I felt like I'm in a roller coaster."
Lee Joo Myung wondered how she could lead her co-stars like a dependable leader. However, she promised that she gave her 100% to her drama and acting role, further raising anticipation among viewers.
