‘Queen of Divorce’ Episode 1: Lee Ji Ah’s Downfall Leads To Revenge

The long wait is over for Lee Ji Ah's K-drama comeback as her brand new JTBC drama finally made its debut! In "Queen of Divorce" Episode 1, Lee Ji Ah transforms into a reputable lawyer specializing in divorce. Here's what went down on its pilot episode. 

'Queen of Divorce' Episode 1: Kim Sa Ra's Dilemma

In "Queen of Divorce" Episode 1, Kim Sa Ra (Lee Ji Ah) does everything to help her client get her child from her husband during their divorce. She boasts her heroic moves as a divorce lawyer with a 100% success rate.

She vows to protect any woman during a divorce in order to save them from the pain she experienced two years ago when her husband betrayed her heart.

Her mother-in-law also refuses to accept her as a daughter-in-law, making it difficult for her to move around them. Thankfully, she finds strength from her son.

The following day, she's forced to take a case to defend a cheating husband. Elsewhere, Dong Ki Joon (Kang Ki Young) prepares to take down a place where illegal activities take place.

Kim Sa Ra Risks Her Success Rate

Just when she's about to refuse, her mother-in-law bribes her a seat on the Board of Directors. Because of this, she goes against her conscience and diligently prepares for the case.

She defends her client, however, she gets shocked when the other party submits evidence of her client getting touchy with her mother-in-law.

Kim Sa Ra is grasping for straws when Dong Ki Joon raids her client's office. She soon finds out that her client lied about his sexual orientation throughout his marriage.

She plans to use this as substantial evidence but it could damage her success rate. But because her mother-in-law scraps her promise, Kim Sa Ra decides to use it.

Kim Sa Ra Faces Her Downfall

After Kim Sa Ra makes Son Jang Mi (Kim Sun Young) win the case, her mother-in-law decides to get rid of her by tainting her reputation as a lawyer.

No Yul Seong (Oh Min Seok), her husband, doesn't defend her and tells her to serve her time in jail. He even files for a divorce and takes the custody of their son while remarrying another.

No Yul Seong celebrates his second wedding but his mistress causes a ruckus in the hotel lobby. The following day, the news of the mistress' death spreads.

Dong Ki Joon, who witnessed the commotion, decides to get involved in the case. Kim Sa Ra's mother also learns about this, and asks to meet with the former to hand over the evidence.

No Yul Seong gets a hold of her before Dong Ki Joon's arrival. Meanwhile, Son Jang Mi visits Kim Sa Ra in prison and offers her something that will change her life.
