Lee Do Hyun Celebrates the Success of 'Exhuma'

On Lee Do Hyun's Instagram, the actor posted a photo celebrating the milestone during the theater screening of "Exhuma."

Along with a lengthy message for his followers, the 28-year-old actor greeted fans while on his military break.

He then continues by penning a sweet note to fans, thanking them for their warm support for his movie.

"When I saw the news reports about the response from moviegoers, I wanted to do what I could to share my joy with everyone, but then the next thing I knew, I opened my eyes, and it's surpassed 4 million moviegoers... I don't know how much more the numbers will rise, but for now, I want to sincerely thank everyone for their enthusiastic responses."

As the actor concludes his message, he promises to greet his fans with a better version of himself once he completes his military duties.

"Right now, I am soldier Lee Do Hyun, but next year, I will greet you again as a more mature version of actor Lee Do Hyun and deliver my words of gratitude in person."

"Exhuma" is his last project before enlisting in the military.

Lee Do Hyun's Military Service to 'Exhumy's' Success in Box Office

Lee Do Hyun officially started his basic military training on August 14 and is also serving his military duty through ROKAF's (Republic of Korea Air Force) military band.

Weeks after his enlistment, a photo of him wearing the uniform circulated on social media, with fans gushing over his new aura.

Meanwhile, "Exhuma" is showing no signs of slowing down at the Korean box office.

After the Korean Film Council reported on February 22 that the movie had surpassed 4 million moviegoers, the occult mystery film landed another milestone.

In the latest report, "Exhuma" has now officially hit the 5 million mark, making it the first 2024 film to score such an achievement.

To mark the milestone, producers of the movie unveiled a special poster featuring "Exhuma" cast Kim Go Eun, Lee Do Hyun, Choi Min Sik, and Yoo Hae Jin.

Why is 'Exhuma' Worth Watching?

Directed and written by Jang Jae Hyun of "The Priests" and the upcoming movie "Dark Nuns, "Exhuma" is an occult mystery film that showcases the journey of exorcists, a shaman named Hwarim (Kim Go Eun) and Bong Gil (Lee Do Hyun).

In addition, the duo is joined by mortician Ko Young Geun (Yoo Hae Jin) and feng shui master Kim Sang Deok (Choi Min Sik).

The group works on mysterious graves in exchange for a huge amount of money.

Besides the Korean box office success, "Exhuma" was also invited to the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, representing Korea on the global stage.
