Choi Sung Eun mentions "My Name is Loh KiWan" star Song Joong Ki and former co-star Ji Chang Wook. 

In her interview with a local media outlet, the rookie actress dishes on her working relationship with South Korean top stars. 

Choi Sung Eun on the Difference Between Working With Song Joong Ki and Ji Chang Wook

Debuting in 2019, Choi Sung Eun has landed on a few notable K-dramas, taking on supporting roles in the action comedy film "Start-Up" and eventually taking on lead roles in "Gentleman," "The Sound of Magic," and her latest project, "My Name is Loh KiWan."

According to Choi Sung Eun, she is comfortable working with Song Joong Ki, despite his status in the industry. 

She tells the outlet that she never called a senior actor or co-star "Oppa" before shooting "My Name is Loh KiWan," hinting that she had a good working relationship with the top star. 

"Even with Ji Chang Wook, I called him 'sunbae' out of respect. I guess I'm not one to drop formalities easily," the rookie actress added. 

In Korea, "oppa" means "older brother," which is used to refer to someone who is older than her. A person can use the term "oppa" to address her friends, colleagues, or someone close to her who gives off a sense of friendliness. 

As for addressing a senior or someone with more experience in the work setting, they use the term "sunbae."

Choi Sung Eun also detailed her working relationship with Song Joong Ki, explaining how crucial it is to have a "natural connection."

"Thankfully, Song Joong Ki told me to relax and encouraged me not to call him'sunbae' during our first meeting," she said, adding, "Dropping the formalities definitely helped us bond faster."

In Netflix's newly released movie, Choi Sung Eun takes on the role of Marie, a professional shooter whom Loh KiWan met while he was in Belgium.

As for Ji Chang Wook, the actress worked with the South Korean heartthrob in 2022 for "The Sound of Magic."

Choi Sung Eun Talks About Song Joong Ki's Professionalism'

Being a rookie actress, Choi Sung Eun had to work with more experienced actors, including award-winning stars, veteran celebrities, and more. 

However, what caught her attention is how Song Joong Ki is at work. 

Lauding the actor's professionalism and personality at work, Choi Sung Eun described her co-star as someone who is "incredibly considerate."

"He always goes the extra mile to make his co-stars feel comfortable, and his positive energy keeps the set lively."

Choi Sung Eun added that joining "My Name is Loh KiWan" and working with Song Joong Ki "was a learning experience," adding that despite his status in the industry, her co-star is "humble, passionate, dedicated, and always open to feedback.

"My Name is Loh KiWan '' officially premiered on March 1 exclusively on Netflix. 

The movie also featured "Vincenzo" and "Reborn Rich" actor Jo Han Chul as Marie's father, Yoon Seong.
