Veteran actor Lee Kwang Ki became emotional during his daughter's wedding to national football team player Jung Woo-young, held in an intimate outdoor ceremony on Saturday evening in Seoul.

The wedding of Lee's daughter, Lee Yeon Ji, took place at 6 p.m. on June 15 at B Garden, a secluded venue on the outskirts of Gangnam.

Set in the woods, the peaceful locale gave the private event a forest feel, as some 500 guests, including those from the film and sports worlds, attended. Hopped on over.

Despite rain being in the forecast, the weather held up throughout the event, much to the hosts' relief.

Among the high-profile guests were Yoo Jae Suk, Yoo Dong Geun, Lim Ha Ryong, Jo Se Ho, and Hong Seok Cheon.

Singer Crush also sang congratulatory songs, and So Hyang and Yoo Jae Suk hosted the event.

In a personal touch, the bride and groom exchanged vows without an officiant, adding warmth and sincerity to the proceedings.

Lee Kwang Ki was visibly moved during the event. "Welcoming such a reliable son-in-law into the family is incredibly moving," he told reporters.

"As you know, young couples today make their own choices, so all I can do is support them quietly."

He also reflected on the emotional weight of the occasion.

"Since my debut, I've experienced many ups and downs, but watching my children grow up, especially with all the challenges along the way, hit me all at once. That's when the tears came," he said.

Lee Yeon Ji, who studied fine arts and now co-runs an art gallery with her father, first gained public attention as a child on the JTBC variety show Children, The Life's Greatest Blessing, and later appeared on TV Chosun's The Perfect Life.

The groom, Jung Woo Young, was born in 1999 and began his professional career in Germany, joining Bayern Munich's youth team.

Strong in both his pace and intelligence, he has played for both Freiburg and Stuttgart and is now playing for Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.

The couple's emotional wedding and Lee Kwang Ki's encouraging words of support have generated an outpouring of support from their fans and peers.
