The former " Lin Chiling of car models," Taiwanese model Cai Yuxin, died in transition to a coma that was the result of a cosmetic sleep therapy procedure, triggering a major criminal investigation and fierce public debate on suspected medical malpractice and family manipulation.

Cai, 40, passed away after spending 19 days in a coma following a procedure at a cosmetic clinic in Taipei's Daan District.
According to China Times, Cai had sought treatment for chronic insomnia and had previously undergone similar therapy at the same clinic.
However, she is believed to have taken a turn for the worse after her sixth session.
On the day in question, the clinic gave him Propofol, a strong sedative commonly available in a hospital setting.
The attending doctor allegedly left the room shortly after the injection, and a male assistant took over Cai'sCai's care at the facility.
Within minutes, she began convulsing and lost consciousness. "Her eyes rolled back, she started shaking," said one witness.
Clinic staff delayed calling emergency services until after their resuscitation attempts failed.
When paramedics arrived, Cai was unresponsive and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Despite intensive care, her condition showed no improvement, and her family later made the decision to withdraw life support.
The Taipei police said that clinic workers, including its owner, doctors, and nurses, were taken in for questioning.
Investigators are probing potential violations under Taiwan's criminal and medical statutes, including charges of negligent homicide and unlawful medical practices.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the precise cause of death.
Public outcry intensified after reports emerged suggesting possible exploitation by Cai's family.
Model and close friend Weng Zihan accused Cai's mother and brother of prioritizing financial gain over her life.
In a social media post, Weng alleged the family rejected pleas from friends to delay ending life support and sought access to Cai's properties.
"They were already talking about real estate and compensation while we were praying for her to wake up," Weng wrote.
The family reportedly demanded NT$10 million (approximately $338,500 USD) in compensation from the clinic.
Cai's brother has denied the claims, stating, "These rumors are hurtful and false. We will pursue legal action against those spreading misinformation."
Cai Yuxin gained fame after appearing on car shows and in commercials, where she earned a reputation for her glamorous image and friendly demeanor.
Her sudden death has shocked fans throughout Asia and has once again focused attention on cosmetic clinics and non-hospital sedation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
