Hospital authorities say the funds will be used to improve the medical facilities and the environment of treatment in the children's ward, making it more comfortable and efficient for children undergoing treatment.

The gift is the latest act of generosity in Lee's long-standing philanthropic career. She has been raising funds to help underserved communities since 2020.

In 2020, she donated ₩10 million to aid single-mother entrepreneurs struggling amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following year, she gave ₩20 million to Duroo, a non-profit that advocates for abused children, supporting legal reforms, lawsuits, and educational programs to bolster protections for all minors.

Her charity work continued through 2021 and 2023, during which she donated ₩100 million each year to the Beautiful Foundation.

Those funds provided winter supplies and resources for marginalized youth, including teen parents and adolescents with borderline intellectual disabilities transitioning out of institutional care.

Her contributions helped improve housing stability and independence for these at-risk groups.

Lee's latest donation underscores her growing interest in pediatric healthcare and medical innovation.

"This gift will not only help with treatment costs but also contribute toward advancing therapeutic equipment and hospital environments for children," a representative from Seoul Asan Medical Center stated.

The actress has received high praise from fans and industry peers for consistently using her platform to help those in need.

Her dedication to social responsibility has become an example for other celebrities.

Meanwhile, Lee Si-young is making a small-screen comeback with the ENA drama Salon de Holmes, which airs on June 16.
