Actor Kim Soo Hyun has officially denied that he had dated deceased actress Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor.

His lawyer, Go Sang Rok of Law Firm Pil, issued a third public statement on October 4, denying principal evidence and labeling a draft credited to Kim Sae Ron as fake content.
According to AllKpop, Go detailed how investigators confirmed the timeline of photos introduced as proof.
Prior to detailing further, he mentioned, "photos were verified on the actor's iPad alongside adjacent images that showed date continuity, allowing investigators to narrow the shooting window to between February 18 and February 23, 2020."

Go explained that the iPad was handed over "as is" to the authorities, claiming that the photos were taken when Kim Sae Ron was already an adult.

The lawyer also claimed that the so-called "draft statement" mentioned in the scandal was a fake document that was never meant to be released.
In reference to this, The Chosun Daily reported that Go cited a message the late actress had sent to a reporter: "Is it true the article won't run and this is settled I'm anxious," suggesting she had no intention of making the statement public.
The declaration also pointed to discrepancies within the purported draft, noting that it had "plain mistakes."
Go pointed to the document's assertion — "I was 16, the other person was 30" — was arithmetically wrong. He explained, "f Kim Sae Ron was 16, Kim Soo Hyun would have been 28; if he was 30, she would have been 18."
Go defined the draft as "a prepared propaganda intended to create the image of a man in his 30s psychologically overbearing and sexually exploiting a child below 16 years who, under existing law and social norms, is considered to be lacking in sexual self-determination."
Kim Sae Ron died on February 16, aged 24. Her family claimed she and Kim Soo Hyun were dating for six years from the time she was in her middle school until now.

Kim Soo Hyun's lawyers have confirmed that the two were dating but say the relationship was between summer 2019 and spring 2020.
The actor's camp has, thereafter, filed several criminal charges, such as defamation, and a civil suit to seek around USD 8.9 million (KRW 12 billion) in damages.
