Han Hye Jin: My Husband Is My Best Friend

Han Hye Jin may play a woman in a troubled marriage in the drama "One Warm Word," but she is actually happily married to star soccer player Ki Sung Yueng. She recently spoke to "Entertainment Relay" about how marriage changed her life and how it has affected her career.

"I feel more at ease now," she said. "Even if my acting career doesn't work out, he's waiting for me in the United Kingdom."

The actress married the eight-year-younger soccer star Ki Sung Yueng in July. Shortly after that she left to join him in Wales where he is to loan to a British team. She planned to stay there but the call of her current drama was too strong.

"I really wanted to focus on my family, but my heart was torn because I was such a big fan of the drama's writer," she said.

The actress was not only a fan of the screenwriter, Han Myung Hee, who also wrote "Can We Get Married?" but also the director Choi Hyung Hun, who directed the drama "Five Fingers."

She discussed the situation with her new husband and was surprised at how understanding he was. He told her to take the role.

As her husband is also a celebrity, he understood better than most people what being an actress involved. He wished her luck with the drama even if it meant she would have to return to Korea to film it. With his support she has been able to deliver a great performance as Na Eun Jin, the woman who condemns her husband for cheating and then has an affair of her own. As a married woman in real life, she now also has better insight into what it takes to maintain a strong marriage.

"My husband is my number one supporter and best friend," said Han Hye Jin.

This year the actress can also be seen in the film "When A Man Loves," which she finished before joining her husband.

"It was my last production as a single woman and at the same time it is my first production after getting married so I was very happy," she said. "I think it was the first time that I felt I could be happy while acting."

She sent her husband an encouraging video message on the show. "Fighting," she said.

Han Hye Jin appeared in the dramas "The Thorn Birds," "Jumong," "Jejungwon" and the manga-inspired film "26 Years."
