Lee Bo Young And Ji Sung Vow To Keep Their Wedding Simple
Despite their popularity, actress Lee Bo Young and her boyfriend actor Ji Sung plan to keep their wedding plans simple.
When Ji Sung recently appeared as a guest on Kim Bum Soo's "Music Plaza," he relayed the family wishes that would dictate the size of the couple's Sept. 27 wedding.
"Our parents asked us to make the wedding a family affair," said Ji Sung, who is currently filming the drama "Secret. "So we will have about 200 guests, 100 per family."
That is a small wedding by celebrity standards. For example, when Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung recently got married, they had over a thousand guests.
The show's disc jockey Kim Bum Soo wanted to know if he was invited to the wedding. Ji Sung said that not only was Kim invited but that he would be asked to sing.
Ji Sung apologized in advance to anyone who was not invited. It was nothing personal.
"I don't want our wedding ceremony to be crazy," he said. "We want it to be a wedding where we are congratulated by our family and we sincerely thank them back."
The couple, which recently returned from shooting wedding photos in Spain, met when they appeared together in the 2004 SBS drama "Save The Last Dance For Me." Lee Bo Young's character lost Ji Sung to his leading lady, played by Eugene. But in real life, they began to date. They did not admit they were dating until 2007 when a photographer caught them out together.
They decided to marry this spring but postponed announcing that decision until Lee Bo Young finished filming her hit drama "I Hear Your Voice." Lee did not want her wedding news to interfere with the success of the drama.
Viewers were very involved in the romantic relationship between her character Jang Hye Sung and Lee Jong Suk's character, Park Soo Ha. A wedding announcement might have been distracting.
After the show ended, she announced the news online in a letter to her fans.
"For all of you who are deeply into the Hye Sung and Soo Ha relationship, this may seem like I'm pouring cold water on it so I am really sorry for this announcement," wrote Lee Bo Young. "But I had to release the news now because I don't really have much time to get ready for my wedding."
The couple has not announced the venue of the wedding or who is on the guest list but Lee Bo Young's "I Hear Your Voice" co-star Yoon Sang Hyun has already been asked to sing at the ceremony. And Lee Jong Suk said he would attend.
