"I Hear Your Voice" Scores Top Honors At Korean Drama Awards

It should come as no surprise that the stars of "I Hear Your Voice" won big at the 2013 Korea Drama Awards, as the drama about a young man who can hear others' thoughts was one of this year's most popular.

In this story Lee Jong Suk played the young man with a tragic past and paranormal abilities. He seeks Lee Bo Young, who once risked her life to testify on his behalf. When he does find her he discovers that she has become a jaded public defender.

The drama snagged a best production director award for its PD Jo Soo Won, a best couple award for Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young, an excellence in acting award for Lee Jong Suk, a best actor award for the villain you loved to hate Jung Woong In and top honors for star Lee Bo Young. The actress was honored for her work in two top dramas,  "My Daughter Seo Young" and "I Hear Your Voice," both of which earned high ratings and critical praise.

The best drama of the year award did not go to "I Hear Your Voice" but to Lee Bo Young's other drama, the 50-episode weekend ratings winner "My Daughter Seo Young." That drama also competed with "God of the Workplace," "Childless Comfort" and "Good Doctor."

The award for the best drama writing went to Park Jae Bum for his work on the script of "Good Doctor."

Actress Jo Yoon Hee won a top excellence award for her work in the time-traveling drama "Nine: Nine Time Travels," while singer BoA got a new actress award for her role in the two-episode drama "Expect Romance."

Park Seo Yoon who appeared in "Gold Appear!" and Yoon Joon Hyung who appeared in "Monstar" shared the new actor award.

The best young actor award went to Gal So Wen of "Birth Secret."

And the award for the best OST went to "Gu Family Book," for the song "Only You," performed by 4Men.

For her top honors, Lee Bo Young competed with Go Hyun Jung of "Queen's Classroom," Lee Jin Wook of "Nine," Kim Hye Soo of "God of the Workplace," and Song Hye Kyo in "That Winter The Wind Blows."

Jung Woong In won his award after competing with Lee Seung Gi of "Gu Family Book" and Joo Won of "Good Doctor."

 The awards covered dramas that were shown between Sept. 2012 and Aug. 2013. The winners were announced at an Oct. 2 ceremony at Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Center in Jinju.
