Newly married actor Lee Jung Soo used the occasion of his wedding to share the happy news that his bride was expecting. Sharing baby news has part of the celebrations at a few of this year's k-celebrity weddings.

The comedian turned actor, who appears in the film "The Puppet," spoke at a pre-wedding press conference on Friday at the Seoul Riverside Hotel Grand Hall. He met his wife on the set of the SBS show "Animal Farm" and they have been dating for four years.

"I was already planning on settling down and getting married," said Lee Jung Soo, "When we discovered that we were going to have a baby, I decided that I couldn't send my bride to the delivery room alone, so we quickly made wedding plans."

The couple's child is due in late February or early March, so he took the occasion to also greet his unborn child by shouting out, "My daughter, I love you!"

At two earlier kdrama weddings this year, the bride was also expecting.

The news of actor Kim Jae Won's wedding had already shocked fans, as they did not even know he was dating. But then he further surprised them by announcing that his bride, who works at a leading modeling agency, was three months pregnant. Kim Jae Won did not disclose any details of his wife's pregnancy at his press conference, simply describing her as his "best friend."

Singer Baek Ji Young, who is often called the "Queen of the OST" and her husband actor Jung Suk Won were very happy to announce that they were expecting a month before the wedding. They were excited about becoming parents because they wanted a big family but tragically she miscarried shortly after the ceremony.

It's not the first time that k-celebrities have walked down the aisle while expecting. Ko So Young, who is married to actor Jang Dong Gun, and Son Tae Young, who married Kwon Sang Woo, were both pregnant on their wedding day. So was Jeon Hye Jin, the wife of actor Lee Chun Hee and or Yoon Hye Jin, the wife of actor Uhm Tae Woong.

Being pregnant on your wedding day was not something people used to talk about so openly but now it is happily announced at press conferences.

Of course there were plenty of celebrity weddings this year in which the couples had no immediate plans for children.  When actor Lee Byung Hun and his bride actress Lee Min Jung celebrated their wedding in August, they stated that they were "not in a hurry to make babies."

But then a few months before that they had also not yet set a wedding date.
