WINNER Kang Seung Yoon To Make Acting Comeback in MBC Drama "Kairos"
On May 20, YG Entertainment announced that WINNER's leader, singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor Kang Seung Yoon, will star in the new MBC drama, "Kairos.
"Kairos" is a fantasy, thriller, and romance series revolving around a man named Seo Jin (Shin Sung Rok). He is a driven man who works hard to succeed in life. Through his efforts, he lands a job as the youngest executive at his company. He lives a perfect life with a beautiful violinist as his wife and a daughter.
Seo Jin then falls into complete shock when he finds out that his young daughter is kidnapped. He falls into gloom and contacts a woman from the past named Han Ae Ri (Lee Se Young).
Han Ae Ri discovers later that her mother went missing as well. Having known that the two are from the present and the past, they work together to investigate and reverse whatever tragedies that have befallen upon them while also discovering new truths in the process of their mission.
Han Ae Ri's friend, Lim Gun Wook, will be played by Kang Seun Yoon, a man who shows a lot of vulnerability and is quite a person who seems inexistent in school. However, when it comes to Han Ae Ri, he is willing to go the extra mile to do whatever she needs.
It is said that Gun Wook plays a vital role and an important piece to the puzzle in Han Ae Ri's mission to locate her mother. The series is expected to be full of thrill and excitement.
WINNER's Kang Seung Yoon is very much excited about returning to the acting industry for the first time in over two years. He has previously acted in several shows, including MBC's sitcom High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged, web drama Love for a Thousand More, and tvN's black comedy series Prison Playbook.
Knowing that Kang Seung Yoon has produced several hit songs and soundtracks, it does not come as a surprise to fans that he can also thrive in his acting career. A talented artist that he is, being one of the brilliant act-dols in the industry, it's safe to say that he is the best of both worlds.
Kang Seung Yoon also stated that he was captivated when he read and finished the script of the upcoming MBC drama, "Kairos." The idol shared he is thrilled and excited to be back in the acting scene, saying he still has a lot to learn and improve.
The leader of the band added he will try his best not to become a hindrance to the people he will work with and to the success that is to come to their new series.
"Kairos" is set for airing in the second half of the year.
