Kyungri and Jeong Jinwoon Break Up: Is This the Real Reason?

Kyungri and Jeong Jinwoon have broken up. Almost a year and a half after they confirmed their relationship back in November 2019, the former 9MUSES member and 2AM artist have decided they no longer cannot carry on.

Their agency confirmed the sad news on Many 4. Both YNK Entertainment, representing Kyungri and Mystic Story, which represented Jeong Jingwoon, claimed that the rumors of their breakup are all true.

It can be remembered that although they made their relationship public in November 2019, Kyungri and Jeong Jinwoon were already seeing each other way back in 2017. The two have shown no signs of trouble in their relationship, so the present news comes as a shock to many.

When Jeong Jinwoon was discharged from the military in 2020 and made an appearance on the variety show "Video Star" to talk about how the whole experience went, he credited Kyungri for surviving it. He thanked his then-girlfriend for supporting him and even waiting for him while he had to leave her for a while and serve in the military.

Kyungri was quite generous about how and when they started dating. She shared that they naturally went out, and so people thought they were merely friends. "'We agreed that we shouldn't hide it by wearing hats and should instead comfortably meet up. So I think people thought we were friends," she said once.

While Jeong Jinwoon was still a year in his military service, she also talked about how they had been surviving. She essentially corroborated his story that they kept in contact with each other. According to her, they sent each others letters during the time. At the time of her interview, she already had a total of 10 handwritten letters with her.

She added that whenever her schedule permitted, she would visit him. The interview ended with her wishing him to keep safe since the weather was already getting cold then.

Given all that has transpired while they were together, this split certainly seemed so out of the blue.

According to an insider, the two broke up because of their too busy schedules. While other artists usually give this convenient reason to their fans when they break up with their partners, one can deduce this must be the truth for this couple.

Apart from never showing any signs of trouble in their relationship, a quick check of what the two are up these days can certainly confirm how little time they have to spend with each other.

In particular, Kyungri is currently starring in JTBC's "Undercover." She plays the young version of Han Go Eun's character Go Yoon Joo. On the other hand, Jeong Jinwoon just finished filming for the upcoming horror movie "Oh! My Ghost."

Instead of taking some time to rest and spend time with his partner, he is now cast once more in another lead role. He is slated to play the main character in the movie entitled "Can You Only See Me."
