To set the record straight, the talent agency immediately released a statement regarding the news.

Han So Hee's Agency Spoke out on Rumors Regarding the Upcoming OCN Drama "Island"

In a new report cited by News1, the actress' management clarified that the 26-year-old actress will not appear in the OCN drama, adding that the rumors were "completely groundless." 

Moreover, Han So Hee's agency shared that the actress is currently filming for the Korean drama "I Know But," which is scheduled to air in June.

It came after multiple outlets revealed that the rising star would appear as the lead protagonist Wo Min Ho, which was initially the role of the "It's Okay to Not be Okay" actress. 

Following the reports about Han So Hee joining the new drama, a representative from "Island" revealed that as of the moment, no decision had been made regarding casting the new female lead.

The 26-year-old actress gained the attention of the public with her impressive performance in the smash hit drama "The World of Married" alongside Kim Hee Ae and Park Hae Joon. 

Her astounding portrayal as Yeo Da Kyung earned her a nomination at the 56 Baeksang Arts Awards for the category of Best New Actress in TV.

Seo Ye Ji Confirmed to Withdraw from the Upcoming Korean Drama "Island"

Back in October, multiple outlets noted that the "Lawless Lawyer" actress was offered to join the drama alongside Cha Eun Woo and Kim Nam Gil, who already confirmed his appearance.

Months later, her agency, Gold Medalist, confirmed that Seo Ye Ji would join "Island," but due to the controversy and scandal surrounding the actress, she has decided to withdraw from the upcoming project. 

To recall, the management made the announcement saying that a "mutual, final decision has been made for Seo Ye Ji to not star in 'Island.'"

"Island" Cast and Synopsis

Helmed by "My Dream Class" director Bae Jong and written by Jang Yoon Mi, the Korean drama "Island" follows the story of an heiress named Won Mi Ho and is the only daughter of the Daehan Group's owner. 

Unfortunately, with her arrogance and selfish attitude, her father chose to send her to Jeju Island. Little did she know that the island is where evil roams free. 

Aside from the intriguing storyline, the much-awaited drama gained a lot of attention due to its powerhouse cast. 

Kim Nam Gil is set to play the role of Van, while Cha Eun Woo will act as Kang Chan Hyuk. 

Moreover, joining the cast of "Island" is ZE: A member, Im Shi Wan, who is set to portray Yo Han. 

Although the exact release date has not yet been confirmed, rumors spark that the upcoming Korean drama is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year.
