Cha Eunwoo, a member of the K-pop group ASTRO and a rising actor, will begin his mandatory military service this summer as part of the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) Military Band, his agency confirmed.
According to an exclusive report from OSEN on Wednesday, the 27-year-old star has officially been accepted into the military band and is scheduled to enlist on July 28.
"Cha Eunwoo applied for the Army Military Band at the end of March," a representative from his agency, Fantagio, said at the time of his audition.
"He went through the proper procedures and completed the interview. We were informed that the results would be announced on the 29th.
If accepted, although we didn't yet know the exact date, we understood that enlistment would take place sometime in July."
The Military Manpower Administration announced the list of successful candidates for the military band on May 29, confirming Cha's acceptance.

Cha, born Lee Dongmin, made his debut with ASTRO in 2016 and quickly gained fame for both his musical talents and acting roles in dramas such as True Beauty and Island.
He has also built a reputation as a top-tier visual in the K-pop industry, frequently going viral for his appearances at public events.
South Korea requires all able-bodied men to complete approximately 18 to 21 months of military service, typically before the age of 30.
Cha's enlistment follows a growing list of K-pop idols fulfilling their military duties, often joining specialized units such as the military band or promotional units.
Fantagio has not yet disclosed further details about Cha's upcoming schedule before his enlistment.
