A media outlet publicly announced on June 24 that Blue Dragon Series Awards will happen this coming July 19 at 7 p.m. (KST) in Paradise City. The said award show is making its debut to further strengthen the high interest in original K-drama series.

It has been said that the award ceremony expands to new production and investment content joined by several streaming companies in Korea, namely Netflix, Disney+, Seezn, Apple TV+, Watcha, Waave, Kakao TV, Coupang Play, and TVING.

The soon-to-launch award ceremony will feature dramas, entertainment programs, and versatile stars who showcase their outstanding talents.

Since 2020, Korean content has been loved on the global stage. Starting from Netflix's original series "Kingdom," zombie-themed apocalypse "Sweet Home," to the greatest K-drama of all time that made history "Squid Game."

All of the contents mentioned received great reviews from global viewers and the interest in the series led to its popularity abroad and the increasing interest of foreigners in Korean culture.

In particular, "Squid Game" which stars Lee Jung Jae, Jung Ho Yeon, Park Hae Soo, and more has topped Netflix content worldwide for 53 days since it was released.
