According to Chosun News, Yoo's older brother confirmed the news via his Instagram account, which has now been deleted.

"On Aug 29, 2022, Joo-eun left this place and went to a comfortable place. If you have time, please greet Joo-eun on her way," Yoo's brother said to the publication.

But before leaving, Yoo has reportedly left a letter that his brother has also graciously shared with the media.

"I always wanted to do acting. Maybe it was everything to me or just a small part of me. But it turned out that pursuing this career was very difficult. I didn't want to do anything else, and it was excruciating," Yoo said in the letter.

Aside from this, Yoo affirmed to her parents and loved ones that she is already "resolute and calm," indicating that she has been thinking of taking her life for a long time already.

"I've lived such a happy life which was more than what I deserved. That's why, it is enough for me. This is enough. So please live without placing blame on anyone," the letter reads.
