Namgoong Min's "One Dollar Lawyer" enjoyed double digit ratings since its premiere, proving its popularity among other dramas.

However, the series saw a decline in terms of scores after it entered its second half of broadcast. Why is the drama going downhill? Here's what we know!

'One Dollar Lawyer' Continuously Sees Viewership Ratings Decline

Without a doubt, Daesang (Grand Prize) winner Namgoong Min gives his best in everything that he does, including his comeback drama "One Dollar Lawyer."

The actor received high praises for his performance as Cheon Ji Hoon in the drama, who entices viewers each episode, despite being away from the limelight for two years.

"One Dollar Lawyer" follows the story of an attorney who charges only one dollar as his consultation fee. Namgoong Min is also joined by top notch stars like Kim Ji Eun, Choi Dae Hoon and more, giving great synergy.

Since its premiere, the series took first place in terms of viewership ratings among other dramas. However, the series saw slight dips after the series entered its second half of broadcast.

It is speculated that the drama suffers from fluctuating scores because of its airing cancellations. The production unit decided to cancel airing to organize a special broadcast featuring the highlight scenes of the first eight episodes on October 22, leaving viewers in confusion.

"One Dollar Lawyer" also took a break from airing due to the Professional Baseball Postseason, losing the drama's momentum. Fans expressed their disappointment, calling the series a "once-a-week project."

On top of that, the production unit of the series suddenly chopped the drama off, downgrading the originally 14-parter work to only 12 episodes.

The crew reasoned that the shortening of the series is needed for a precise development and high quality ending, much to the audience's distaste. Because of this, the series gradually dips to a new low rating.

"One Dollar Lawyer," which recorded 15% nationwide rating during its first half, recorded an average rating of 13% with its latest episode.

'One Dollar Lawyer' Disappoints Fans With Unnecessary PPLs

Apart from the downgrading of episodes and confusing drama airing cancellations, another thing that annoyed fans is the drama's unnecessary product placements (PPLs).

In one of the episodes of the series, "One Dollar Lawyer" openly advertised a coffee brand while looking at the camera, breaking the fourth wall. The series continued to promote the coffee as it was included in certain cafe and pub menus.

The excessive PPL, coupled with the consecutive airing cancellations, truly ruined the momentum of the work.

It was believed that Namgoong Min's "One Dollar Lawyer" saved the drought in SBS TV's Friday and Saturday dramas but because of the numerous issues found in the drama, fans are plainly disappointed and sad.

On the other hand, the production unit aims to turn the situation around and once again live up to the audience's expectations, guaranteeing a pleasurable watching experience until its conclusion.

Don't miss the next episode of "One Dollar Lawyer" on November 5, followed by its finale on November 11, at 10:00 p.m. on SBS!
