"Juvenile Justice" fans are welcomed by bad news as the production of its new installment gets abruptly cancelled.

The Netflix drama, starring Kim Hye Soo, Kim Mu Yeol and Lee Jung Eun, enjoyed great reviews from the public during its initial release in 2022.

'Juvenile Justice' Season 2 Production Gets Halted

In 2022, Netflix released the riveting series "Juvenile Justice," which was headlined by Kim Hye Soo, that dominated the charts with its greatness.

The work tells the story of a juvenile judge who hates juvenile offers, and her struggles as a mother who lost her child to juvenile crime.

"Juvenile Justice" topped the Netflix charts, joining the ranks of "Squid Game," "The Silent Sea," "Hellbound" and more.

The drama also bagged the Best Screenplay award at the 58th Baeksang Awards while Kim Hye Soo garnered a nomination for Best Actress in the television category.

With its success, a second season was then green-lit in the second half of the year, much to fans' excitement. Kim Hye Soo, Kim Mu Yeol and Lee Jung Eun were confirmed to reprise their roles.

Unfortunately, the production of the new installment was reportedly cancelled on January 27. Fans who were anticipating the release of the series expressed their disappointment on social media platforms.

One avid viewer commented, "Why would they do this? It's one of the greatest works ever released on Netflix!"

Netflix Korea didn't reveal the exact reason for the pre-production's cancellation. In addition to that, the fate of the series hasn't been decided yet, leaving avid viewers to confusion.
