Seol In Ah's comeback drama "Oasis" with Jang Dong Yoon and Chu Young Woo is off to a great start as it scored an impressive score with its pilot episodes.

However, not all feedback is great as the work received criticisms just a week into the work. Here's what happened.

'Oasis' Criticized For Poor Production Quality

KBS2 finally released its brand new period drama "Oasis"!

Starring Seol In Ah, Jang Dong Yoon and Chu Young Woo, "Oasis" tells the story of three individuals who are stuck in the middle of a love pyramid while trying to chase after their dreams and more in the heart of 1990 South Korea.

The series premiered on March 6 and received a nationwide rating of 6.3%, a significantly high score in terms of viewership. In the next episode, the work scored a rating of 5.2%.

Though there's a slight decline, the work is still one of the hottest among newer releases. Unfortunately, "Oasis" didn't only receive positive remarks as it became the subject of criticism.

Many viewers who have seen the first two episodes of the work expressed their regrets and branded the drama as "tacky" due to its old production quality.

Historical works are a recurring theme in KBS2 dramas like "Youth in May" and "Curtain Call" but "Oasis" holds nothing against the mentioned works according to fans.

One fan stated, "Even if it's a period drama, the shabby clothes that looked recycled and tacky sets just ruin the work that even the actors' performances couldn't save it."

The viewers also pointed out the absurd narrative of the main character going to prison for the second lead, which didn't develop smoothly and seamlessly.

However, many viewers argued that "Oasis" is a great drama that touches on the themes of political issues, societal differences and discrimination against the poor.

Since it's only the first week of its entire run, the production unit guarantees that "Oasis" heralds a great watching experience for fans and regular viewers alike.

Seol In Ah on Becoming Oh Jung Shin

A year after the success of her last drama, Seol In Ah returned to the small screen to capture the attention of the viewers once again!

Known for her angelic face and impeccable acting chops, Seol In Ah bags her newest leading role in years, opposite Jang Dong Yoon whom she worked with in "School 2017."

Seol In Ah fell in love with her character Oh Jung Shin because of her amazing interacting skills and ability to control herself in rather serious situations.

"The period drama appealed to me as soon as I learned about it. Maybe I really am into historical dramas," Seol In Ah stated. "I was also drawn to Oh Jung Shin's 360 shift, which encouraged me to accept the offer."
