Ji Chang Wook To Play Reputable Detective In Comeback Drama

After he headlined "The K2" as a tactical spy, Ji Chang Wook has established a loyal fanbase all around the world.

Since then, he has played various roles including a magician, delivery man and even an ex-convict. This 2023, Ji Chang Wook returns to the small screen as a detective in "The Worst of Evil."

The work, which is set in the 1990s, focuses on the life of a detective who goes undercover as a drug criminal to infiltrate the gang that trades drugs in Southeast Asia.

In the series, Ji Chang Wook transforms into Park Joon Mo, a dedicated police officer who upholds righteousness and good conduct.

Meanwhile, the drama also stars "Squid Game" actor Wi Ha Joon as the drug organization's leader. Im Se Mi, who appeared in "True Beauty," plays Park Joon Mo's wife Yoo Eui Jung.

Filming began in the later half of 2022 with the intention to release the work within 2023. It will be available on Disney+ with English subtitles for foreign viewers.

Ji Chang Wook To Make Silver Screen Comeback

Earlier this 2023, Ji Chang Wook was reported to join Jeon Do Yeon in a new action film!

"Revolver" follows the revenge story of a former police officer who finds ways to get back at the people who are the reason behind her dismissal.

Jeon Do Yeon takes on the lead acting role in the film while Ji Chang Wook is currently reviewing the offer with positive feelings. If he confirms his appearance, the film will mark his return to the big screen after two years.

Once the production unit finalizes the cast lineup, "Revolver" will proceed to filming in the second quarter of the year.

Ji Chang Wook Shows Generosity To Earthquake Victims

Despite his busy life, Ji Chang Wook doesn't forget to extend his hands and kindness to people in need.

In February 2023, the "The Sound of Magic" actor donated 100 million won (approximately 77,000 USD) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to aid the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

A 7.8 magnitude hit the two Middle Eastern countries earlier this year, which caused serious casualties, destroyed livelihoods and took countless lives.
