Koo Kyo Hwan Dishes On His Acting Career

After two years, Koo Kyo Hwan is back in the acting scene with a brand new film!

The actor recently returned with Netflix's murder action film "Kill Bok Soon" where he played the role of a professional serial killer alongside Jeon Do Yeon.

"Kill Bok Soon" received critical acclaim from fans during its premiere. It also garnered international success after it was screened at the Berlinale Special at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival that took place earlier this year.

Koo Kyo Hwan sat down with Allure Korea and expressed his honest thoughts about his career. He first greeted the viewers, thanking his beloved supporters for their never-ending love.

In the interview, he humored the fans and revealed that he's an INFP-a kind of introverted personality from the Myers Briggs Type Indicator which became a trend since the early days of the pandemic.

The "Kill Bok Soon" actor then made a shocking revelation, saying that he didn't originally dream of becoming an actor.

"I wanted to become a director but my parents hoped for me to be an actor instead," Koo Kyo Hwan shared. "I fell in love with acting as I took on more challenges. However, I still want to greet my fans as a director someday."

Koo Kyo Hwan Talks About 'Kill Bok Soon' Role

In the brief interview, the actor also talked about his new acting role. Koo Kyo Hwan confessed that Han Hee Seong is a difficult character compared to his previous works.

"There's no "easy work" but I'm lying if I said I didn't experience difficulties with my new role," Koo Kyo Hwan stated. "Han Hee Seong is such a complex character that I loved and hated him at the same time."

In "Kill Bok Soon," the actor was the lowest-ranked professional killer. Due to this, his character is filled with pent up rage that is almost close to revenge.

According to the actor, he hasn't shown his "insane" side before until "Kill Bok Soon." He guaranteed the viewers that the film is an attractive work with an amazing premise and production, all thanks to the chemistry and hard work of the cast.

On the other hand, Koo Hyo Hwan shared that he wants to do a sports drama in the future; preferably a table tennis movie, making the Allure Korea team laugh.

As of this writing, the actor is gearing up for his forthcoming films "Escape," "Parasite: The Grey" and more.
