Song Joong Ki's 'Hopeless' Drops Film Poster
On May 8, the Cannes Film Festival noir film "Hopeless" released its international teaser poster, much to fans' excitement.
Directed by Kim Chang Hoon, "Hopeless" (previously titled "Hwaran") follows the story of a young man whose hellish life drastically changes when he meets a mysterious man who's a member of a gang.
Song Joong Ki takes on the role of Chi Geon, a gangster while Hong Sa Bin plays an 18-year-old boy who's lost in life. The two characters change the trajectory of their lives with the help of one another.
In the newly released poster, Song Joong Ki and Hong Sa Bin stand side-by-side on a steep cliff as they gaze at the vast view of the river, exuding a melancholic aura.
The thought-evoking poster also raises the curiosity of the viewers as to what kind of relationship Song Joong Ki and Hong Sa Bin's characters will maintain, and what they will seek for in a hopeless world.
'Hopeless' Cannes Premiere Schedule & More
Kim Chang Hoon's "Hopeless" will be screened in the Un Certain Regard category at the Official Selection at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
It will be premiered along with international films "Goodbye Julia" by Mohamed Kordofani, "How To have Sex" by Molly Manning Walker and more.

The Cannes Film Festival will be held on May 16 to 27 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in France.
Katy Louise Saunders To Possibly Walk Cannes Red Carpet
Not many know but Song Joong Ki confirmed his participation in the Cannes film "Hopeless" wholeheartedly.
The actor agreed to lead the noir film without pay, which earned him respect and applause from fans all over the world.
In addition to that, the film also features Song Joong Ki's Cannes debut. Because of this, he is expected to walk the red carpet with his beautiful wife Katy Louise Saunders whom he married earlier this year.
All eyes are on the couple as their Cannes appearance would also herald their first ever official public schedule since their wedding.
