These four actors didn't only take the acting scene by storm but they also bravely beat cancer. Keep on reading.

Park So Dam

In 2021, Park So Dam shocked her beloved fans when she announced that she was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer.

At the time, she was in a very dangerous situation that she almost lost her voice. The "Parasite" star immediately underwent emergency surgery, leaving fans in worry.

Thankfully, it was a success. She regained her health through careful health management and a balanced diet.

Park So Dam does Pilates five to six times a week along with Red Velvet Yeri. Earlier this 2023, she returned to the big screen with the period drama film "Phantom" with Honey Lee and Park Hae Soo.

Uhm Jung Hwa

Singer and actress Uhm Jung Hwa was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2010 which took a massive toll on her career.

For eight long months, she experienced anxiety due to vocal cord paralysis that she couldn't create any sound.

Thanks to rehabilitation, cord injections and practice, she successfully regained her voice. In 2017, she was able to release her 10th album entitled "The Cloud Dream of the Nine."

At the moment, she takes the Hallyu scene by storm with her top-notch acting in the hit series "Doctor Cha" where plays the titular role of a homemaker who decides to pursue her medical career 20 years later.

Kim Woo Bin

Kim Woo Bin is another star who shocked the public with a revelation concerning their health.

In 2017, the "Black Knight" star went on a hiatus due to his diagnosis of nasopharyngeal cancer where tumors grew in the back part of his nasopharynx.

After three rounds of chemotherapy and 35 sessions of radiation therapy, the Hallyu superstar returned to the limelight much healthier and stronger.

In 2022, he made his comeback to the screen with the star-studded life drama "Our Blues" with real-life partner Shin Min Ah, Lee Jung Eun, Cha Seung Won, Han Ji Min and more.

Kim Woo Bin also transforms into a delivery man in a dystopian world in the brand new Netflix drama "Black Knight."

Hong Jin Kyung

Television host and actress Hong Jin Kyung battled ovarian cancer in 2014, which made it difficult for her to continue working while also raising her young child at the time.

With a religious routine of receiving anti-cancer treatment, she returned to the television scene with a bright aura in 2016.

The "My Love From the Star" actress empowered herself by wearing wigs during broadcasts, which made her proud of herself for beating cancer.

Hong Jin Kyung recently appeared as a host for the seasonal dating show "Single's Inferno" with Lee Da Hee.
