While fans are given an array of high scale works every quarter, there's also a huge number of works that were kept from coming into fruition.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, many K-Dramas are being canceled even before its production. Here are four highly anticipated works that were sadly given the red signal.

'Prometheus'

Ha Ji Won and Jin Goo's espionage "Prometheus" was one of the fated dramas to be canceled from being produced.

Because of schedule conflicts, the two lead stars backed out from the work. MBC then tried to hold auditions for their characters but it unfortunately failed.

The company eventually decided to call the show off as they had no plans on airing it anymore.

'School 2020'

Similar to "Prometheus," the KBS teen romance series "School 2020" also didn't make it to the screen due to casting conflicts.

Ahn Seo Hyun decided to withdraw from the work after her father didn't see eye to eye with the production company on certain terms and policies.

The role was then given to Kim Sae Ron but was once again halted because of the stakeholders' opinions of the actress.

The drama was re-upped in the following year as "School 2021" with Kim Yo Han and Cho Yi Hyun in the main lead.

'Juvenile Justice 2'

In 2022, Netflix released the court drama "Juvenile Justice" with legendary star Kim Hye Soo.

It instantly became one of the best works of 2022, all thanks to its sound premise and amazing performances from the ensemble.

In the second half of 2022, Netflix confidently announced that a new installment was in the works. However, fans' excitement was short-lived as the work, which was in its pre-production phase, was immediately canceled.

Netflix Korea didn't provide any explanation but fans suspect that schedule conflicts were the main reason as Kim Hye Soo was filming her period drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella" at the time.

'The Price of Confession'

Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee were supposed to decorate the television screen together this 2023 with "The Price of Confession."

Fans all over the world rejoiced after the two actresses confirmed their participation. They also entertained their supporters through their adorable interactions online.

Earlier this May 2023, fans were surprised when Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee both withdrew from the drama due to unknown reasons.

Any hope for the work to be released with different actors also disappeared as its producing director, Lee Eung Bok, decided not to join "The Price of Confession" anymore.
