In an interview by a media outlet, the South Korean heartthrob got honest about his apprehension after being offered the role of a mysterious character.

Kim Seon Ho Admits He Couldn't Watch Himself in 'The Childe' - Here's Why

In the upcoming Korean movie "The Childe," Kim Seon Ho takes on the role of a nobleman named Gwi Gong Ya, the antagonist of the story. From his "good boy" character and boy next door roles, viewers get to see a different side of him as he takes on the villain persona.

When asked about how he feels about his first-ever movie, Kim Seon Ho said he was "excited" to show the viewers his new film since a lot of fans were also looking forward to seeing him on the big screen.

"At first, I wondered whether people would be curious about the movie that I'm going to be in for the first time," he said, sharing that he also had initial doubts about doing the film.

"I was worried, and so I asked people around me for their opinions," the actor added.

While he mentioned that working on movies "still fascinates" him and that it "feels different" to act on the big screen, Kim Seon Ho revealed that he "couldn't watch" himself acting, knowing that "The Childe" is his first movie.

"I also experienced the press release event for the first time, and I couldn't watch my own acting," he admitted, adding, "All I can see are the shortcomings. It was interesting for me since this is my first time watching (the film) in a year."

Kim Seon Ho Thankful for 'The Childe' Director

"The Childe" is Kim Seon Ho's official comeback to show business, following his year long hiatus due to the controversial incident back in 2021. The actor experienced a slump in his career after brands dropped him from various endorsements.

Despite this, he was able to clear his name, and "The Childe" director Park Hoon Jung continued to cast him for the movie.

Due to this, Kim Seon Ho feels thankful for the filmmaker and how the upcoming action-crime film is gaining the attention of the public.

"I don't know how director Park Hoon Jung felt, but I personally feel sorry and am thankful at the same time," he said, adding that he also felt "a lot of complicated emotions" at the time due to the controversy.

Moreover, apart from "The Childe" director, he is also thankful to Studio And New company and their CEO, Jang Kyung Ik, who told him that they planned to cast him "until the end" as long as Kim Seon Ho was okay with it.

Besides the South Korean heartthrob, "The Childe" cast includes Kang Tae Joo as a Filipino-Korean amateur boxer, Marco, Kim Kang Woo, and Go Ah Ra as lead stars.

Kim Seon Ho's new movie will be released on June 21 with a runtime of 1 hour and 58 minutes.
