Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi's team-up gained huge praise from the viewers as Netflix delivered an interesting series, "Bloodhounds."

However, amid the overwhelming response from the public and media, did you know that Lee Do Hyun has been offered the role of Kim Gun Woo.

Why Lee Do Hyun Declined Netflix's 'Bloodhounds'

Back in 2021, a media outlet cited that Lee Do Hyun and Kwak Dong Yeon had decided not to headline the upcoming K-drama "Bloodhounds."

After being selected to portray the lead character, the duo turned down the offer due to various conflicts with the production team.

Because of this, director Jason Kim offered the roles of amateur boxers to Lee Sang Yi and Woo Do Hwan, who at the time were still serving the military.

After successfully completing his service in 2022, "Bloodhounds" was among the first few projects he completed as he returned to civilian life.

On the other hand, Lee Do Hyun starred in another hit K-drama, "The Glory," with Song Hye Kyo and Lim Ji Yeon, and was followed by another trending series, "The Good, Bad Mother," with award-winning actress Ra Mi Ran.

According to a separate outlet, viewers were pleased to see the duo portray the protagonist of the story.

Both Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi perfectly performed the characters of Kim Gun Woo and Hong Woo Jin, especially in the action packed scenes.

On the other hand, the public seemed happy with how Lee Do Hyun portrayed the roles of "Joo Yeo Jung" in "The Glory" and Choi Kang Ho in "The Good, Bad Mother."

Plus, he was able to meet his current girlfriend, Lim Ji Yeon, through the revenge drama series.

'Bloodhounds' Ranked 1st in Netflix's Top 10 TV Shows

The webtoon-based K-drama shows no signs of slowing down as "Bloodhounds" advances to the top spot.

As mentioned by Flix Patrol, a streaming data aggregator platform, the webtoon based K-drama is enjoying the top spot by surpassing the ranking of  "Never Have I Ever."

In addition, "Bloodhounds" ranked first in 22 countries, including France, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, and more.

As mentioned, it is based on the webtoon of the same name, which depicts the story of two amateur boxers who got intertwined with loan sharks.

Joining Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi are Heo Joon Ho, Park Sung Woong, Kim Sae Ron, and more.
