‘Numbers’ Episodes 1-2: Kim Myung Soo Begins His Journey in Accounting Firm

Jang Ho Woo (Kim Myung Soo) started his journey in a prestigious accounting firm. Despite his background, the newbie breaks barriers and proves his worth in the company in "Numbers" episodes 1 and 2. 

'Numbers' Episode 1: Jang Ho Woo Starts Working at Taeil Accounting Firm

In "Numbers" episode 1, Jang Ho Woo was abandoned by his parents since his childhood. Fortunately, he met Jang In Ho (Nam Myung Ryul), the owner of the Haebit construction company, and welcomed him into the family. Ho Woo spent his teenage years with Mr. Jang along with Song Yeo Jin (Do Yun Jin) and Gong Hee Sam (Kim Sun Bin). 

He dreamed of becoming a police officer. However, one day, while helping his grandmother at the restaurant, he overheard people from the accounting firm talking about the issues in the accounts of Haebit Construction. 

Jang Ho Woo tried to tell Jang In Ho but failed. The next thing that happened, it already reached the news that Haebit Construction went bankrupt. The young man went to the site and protested against the demolition along with the construction workers. 

Han Seung Jo (Choi Jin Hyuk) came and handed the legal notice about the demolition. Ho Woo became powerless to protect Jan In Ho's company. He looked for Mr. Jang only to find out that he committed suicide after failing the company. 

The series of unfortunate events fueled Jang Ho Woo to pursue accounting and enter the famous Taeil Accounting Firm, which mishandled Haebit Construction's account. He wants to track down the people behind the injustices in the company. Despite not having a college degree, his determination and intelligence became his swords, and passed the accounting exam.

He was also the only high school graduate who was able to get accepted at the Taeil Accounting Firm. After having access to the firm, he discovered how tough it is to work in the company. 

'Numbers' Episode 2: Jang Ho Woo Declines to Join Han Seung Jo's Team

In "Numbers" episode 2, despite not being part of any team, Jang Ho Woo began doing clerical work to be visible in the eyes of others. After doing it for weeks, he gained attention, and many have been asking for his assistance. 

To get close to Han Seung Jo, he needs to be visible to him. One day, he met him on the rooftop and explained to him how the accounting firm works. It gave him an open mind for his next move. 

He got motivated and began doing tasks as an office assistant. As the story progresses, it was revealed that it was Han Seung Jo, who hired Ho Woo to be part of the firm. It also showed Seung Jo's complicated relationship with his father, Taeil Company's vice president. 

Han Seung Jo then decided to get Jang Ho Woo to be part of his team. However, he declined the offer and wanted to go on with his plan without the help of others.

Jang Ho Woo then diligently worked on his own and got noticed by Kang Hyun (Kim Young Jae). He was able to help him solve People Entertainment's account and gave Kang Hyun the drive to follow his values at work. 

Due to his intelligence and wise move, Jang Ho Woo started to establish his spot at Taeil Accounting Firm.
