While many enjoy romance K-Dramas that introduce handsomely chiseled male love interests, some avid viewers are more drawn into dramas that focus on the characters and their inner circle.

Some also love to see character studies on the characters' female friendships and how they empower one another. With that, here are four K-Drama recommendations that depict the inner workings of women, womanhood and female bond.

'Little Women'

In 2022, Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun and Park Ji Hu perfectly portrayed the beauty and reality of a sisterly love through the smash hit drama "Little Women."

It's a South Korean take on the classic novel of the same name and thankfully, it was well-received by the public.

Apart from the sisterhood depicted in the series, "Little Women" also tackled sensitive themes like deceit, poverty, societal issues and politics under a male-dominated government.

In addition, Kim Go Eun's womance with Choo Ja Hyun is also a delight to see that it even had its own cult following in various online communities.

'Queenmaker'

From the get-go, Netflix promoted Kim Hee Ae and Moon So Ri's "Queenmaker" as a political womance work. This is why a lot of empowered ladies tuned in to the work.

Thankfully, the series didn't disappoint. It depicted the alliance between a genius planner and an aspiring leader who plans to take down the patriarchy by winning the election.

Although the two veteran stars played opposing characters, they were more alike than they ever imagined.

Moreover, the beautiful friendship that emerged from their tryst-from being wary to each other to being comfortable together in silence-is a treat that shouldn't be missed.

'Green Mothers' Club'

"Green Mothers' Club" may be one of the most jam-packed works ever released in Hallyu. From female friendships, womanhood, motherhood, to mystery and action, the work has it all.

The series depicts the drama among mothers who stop at nothing in ensuring their children's education and future, and the dirty secrets and hidden truths that they hide in their closets.

While the series stars strong women like Kim Gyu Ri, Jang Hye Jin and Joo Min Kyung, the womance and undeniable chemistry between Lee Yo Won and Choo Ja Hyun can never be missed.

The two stuck with each other through thick and thin, which is the reason why the two actresses have a loyal fan base even after the drama had concluded.

'Lies Hidden In My Garden'

Kim Tae Hee and Lim Ji Yeon's mystery thriller series "Lies Hidden In My Garden" is also in the list.

Despite living completely different lives, they grow closer after an unexpected incident that brought them together. After discovering a disturbing stench in their backyards, their worlds become smaller quickly than they realize.
