Park Gyu Young recently took the world by storm after landing the lead role in Netflix's "Celebrity." However, before the 12-episode mystery drama, she had been in several shows on the streaming platform.

Due to this, the 29-year-old beauty was given a new moniker.

Park Gyu Young on Being Called 'Daughter of Netflix'

Ahead of the release of "Celebrity," the actress did an interview with the local media, where she got to talk about her K-drama comeback and upcoming projects.

Park Gyu Young was asked about her thoughts regarding the moniker "Daughter of Netflix" for headlining several series on the platform.

"I'm not the 'Daughter of Netflix' yet."

She, nonetheless, expressed her appreciation for being called as such by the public.

Moreover, Park Gyu Young also mentioned how honored she is to be involved in various Netflix projects.

"I feel fortunate to be able to showcase my talent through such a prestigious platform. It's incredible that my work [Celebrity] will reach viewers in 190 countries."

In "Celebrity," she took on the role of Seo Ah Ri, an influencer whose career skyrocketed due to the online culture despite coming from a low-income background. The Netflix series showcased the dark side of being an influencer in the social media era.

While viewers speculate that Park Gyu Young's character in "Celebrity" is based on real-life influencers, the team and showrunners explained that the character is fiction. They, however, took inspiration from Korea's influencer scene.
