Bae Suzy is officially back on the small screen as her new K-drama "Doona!" is set to air on Netflix.

Bae Suzy's New Drama 'Doona' To Air in October + Netflix Responds

As mentioned by local media outlet, Star News, the streaming giant is planning to release the upcoming K-drama this year.

Reports say that Netflix is targeting its release for October 20. However, as mentioned by the streaming platform to Newsen, there's no concrete plan yet regarding the debut of Bae Suzy's new drama.

"We have not yet decided the release date for 'Doona!'" a representative from Netflix said, as obtained by a media outlet.

To recall, after the streaming giant released teasers of Bae Suzy and Yang Se Jong's series, reports noted that "Doona" is scheduled to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2023.

On the other hand,despite the update, viewers are still looking forward to seeing the singer-actress in a new role.

In addition, fans are excited to see her team up with Yang Se Jong.

'Doona' Cast and What to Expect in Bae Suzy's New Drama

Helmed by "Romance is a Bonus Book" and "Crash Landing on You" director Lee Jeong Hyo, "Doona" is a webtoon-based K-drama that depicts the story of a university student named Lee Won Joon, portrayed by Yang Se Jong.

Besides being an ordinary student, the upcoming romance drama series also focuses on her connection with Lee Doona, played by Bae Suzy.

She is a former celebrity who used to be the main vocalist of a K-pop group but left due to an incident.

Doona surprised her fans after she suddenly announced her retirement from show business.

On the other hand, Lee Won Joon is familiar with who Doona is, and due to this, he tries to avoid her but gets more curious about her mysterious life.

Besides Yang Se Hong and Bae Suzy, "Doona" also includes Park Se Wan and Lee Yoo Bi.

In addition, "Sweet Home" star Lee Jin Wook and "Tracer" actress Go Ah Sung, as well as LaChica's Gabee, Simeez and Choi Ri An will play a cameo role.

Bae Suzy's New Drama Besides 'Doona'

After the Netflix K-drama, she will star in the rom-com fantasy series "Everything Will Come True."

Bae Suzy will be reunited with "Uncontrollably Fond" co-star Kim Woo Bin and will take on the role of Ga Young, a woman who lacks emotion.

Meanwhile. The "Black Knight" star will be portraying the role of a Genie who was freed from the lamp.

Interestingly, the upcoming K-drama will be under "Extreme Job" and "Dream" director Lee Byung Hun.
