Ahn Hyo Seop Talks About His Romance With Rowoon in ‘A Time Called You’: ‘It was actually difficult’

Ahn Hyo Seop Shares Experiences Working With Rowoon in 'A Time Called You'

In his media interview on September 18, K-drama leading man Ahn Hyo Seop told various stories about his new Netflix series "A Time Called You."

"A Time Called You" was released to over 190 countries and is now one of the most-watched shows on Netflix Global Top 10.

It follows the story of Han Jun Hee, who was missing her boyfriend, Kwon Yeon Jun, who died a year ago. As fate would have it, time slips to 1998 when she ends up meeting Nam Si Heon, a man who looks exactly like her late partner, and Jung In Gyu, his best friend.

Aside from Jeon Yeo Bin and Kang Hoon, Ahn Hyo Seop also worked with his real-life friend and actor Rowoon.

He co-starred with Rowoon in this drama.

According to the heartthrob, the idol always mentioned that he wanted to do a project together sometime. As it happened, "A Time Called You" needed a special appearance, and suggested Rowoon first to the production team.

Ahn Hyo Seop talked to Rowoon and his agency to ask permission if he could make a cameo, to which the "You'll Never Know" star agreed without hesitation.

He confessed that when they started filming, they got awkward with each other at first.

"We usually hang out together, but we met for the first time on set. It was awkward, but it was also a new experience. It was indeed comfortable and fun."

Ahn Hyo Seop continued, "Some of the scenes were uncomfortable. To be honest, it was difficult."

He emphasized, "We joked around a lot. We were immersed in each other as long as we were acting in an interesting way. When we cut, we got annoyed at the fact that we were immersed in it. But of course, those are jokes and we enjoyed working together."

Both of them stayed in the same agency when they were just starting in the industry. The two formed a friendship and continued to be in touch, despite their busy schedules.

As to Rowoon's appearance, Ahn Hyo Seop explained why he was the first person to come to his mind.

"It was because the role required love. Aren't there many forms of love? I think love as a friend also exists. If you think about it, Yeon Jun just had 8 scenes, because he has to like someone in a short period of time. I wanted to see my beloved friend, that's why I asked him in the first place."
