‘Ballerina’ Director Says He ‘Never Regrets’ Admitting His Relationship With Jeon Jong Seo

Director Lee Chung Hyun shared his honest thoughts about his romance with "Ballerina" star Jeon Jong Seo.

Officially released on Netflix on October 6, the action-thriller movie immediately gained attention from viewers due to its unique story and action-packed scenes.

In an interview cited by a news portal, director Lee Chung Hyun talked about his new project and working with Jeon Jong Seo for the second time.

Lee Chung Hyun dishes on the similarities and differences between Jeon Jong Seo and her character in "Ballerina."

Taking on the role of Ok Joo, a former bodyguard who takes revenge for her best friend after taking her own life, the 29-year-old actress once again delivered an exceptional performance, wowing viewers with her skills in action scenes.

According to the director and Jeon Jong Seo's boyfriend, a lot of people "misunderstand" her and think she is a "scary person," but in reality, this is the total opposite.

If given a chance, he would like to work with her again because of her natural skills as an actor.

"I don't know what kind of work I will do in the future, but if I get the chance, I would like to work with Jeon Jong-seo one more time," he said, praising his girlfriend.

Describing the actress as someone who is a "fiery person who gives his all," Lee Chung Hyun says this is what makes her an "attractive actor and girlfriend."

Speaking of their relationship, the "Ballerina" director revealed the reason for publicly admitting his relationship with the actress.

In the same interview, Lee Chung Hyun shared that it was a mutual decision to go public and "have never regretted" admitting his romantic relationship with Jeon Jong Seo.

Moreover, he emphasized that he "never had any intention of denying" it, even if it became public and spread over media sites.

In December 2021, various news portals shared Jeon Jong Seo's relationship status with the "The Call" director, noting that the duo grew interested in each other while working on the movie.

Following the dating rumors, the actress' agency, MY Company, confirmed the news, saying that they "recently began dating."

Besides the filmmaker, Jeon Jong Seo gets to talk about her experience doing another project with Lee Chung Hyun.

In a separate interview, the actress said that they did the movie "carefully without causing concerns to staff."

In addition, she mentioned that they are very casual on set and maintain a professional relationship by treating each other as director and actress while focusing on their respective responsibilities.

"I didn't talk with the director much on the set because we already talked with each other before the shoot," she explained.

As for the movie itself, Jeon Jong Seo said that she had a lot of fun doing the scenes, most especially because the staff were around her age and "had a lot of young energy" on the set.

Other than the 29-year-old star, the "Ballerina" cast also includes Kim Ji Hoon, Park Yu Rim, and Kim Mu Yeol.
