Shin Hye Sun Gets Candid About Struggles During Filming

In an interview, Shin Hye Sun talked about her newest film "Brave Citizen," her affection for the work as well as her struggles during filming.

"Brave Citizen" depicts the life of a former boxer who becomes a teacher after giving up on her athletic career. She finds herself in a sticky situation when she becomes a target of violence.

In the film, Shin Hye Sun transforms into So Si Min, an brilliant boxer-turned-teacher who falls for a mischievously dangerous student's schemes.

According to the actress she spent six months in boxing school without rest before filming. Although she's never done boxing before, Shin Hye Sun believes she's "good at it."

Since the film talks about one's dreams and the many ways to achieve them, Shin Hye Sun worked hard in boxing school to show that anyone can be braver if you set your mind to it.

"Although it was difficult, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment," Shin Hye Sun added, revealing her affection for the film. "I'm sure "Brave Citizen" will do well."

With this, Shin Hye Sun challenges the fans, saying that she will dance willingly to any song once "Brave Citizen" hits the box office, which creates a competitive atmosphere for the work.

Shin Hye Sun Hints At Great Chemistry With Lee Jun Young

Besides her acting performance as a boxer-turned-teacher, one of the things to check out in "Brave Citizen" is her chemistry with Lee Jun Young.

In the show, Lee Jun Young takes on the villainous role once again as Han Soo Kang, a notorious delinquent in their entire campus.

The actor has shown his versatility in the past year with his back-to-back works "Love and Leashes," "May I Help You?" and "Mask Girl."

Shin Hye Sun revealed that Lee Jun Young has cried during the filming due to his character's extreme wrongdoings that contradict the actor's beliefs.

"He's such a softhearted man," the actress shared. "I'm amazed at his professionalism despite his new acting role's character, or lack thereof."

In addition, Lee Jun Young is described as the true "Brave Citizen" after the actor helped the police catch a drunk driver out of a sense of justice.

According to the actor, he tailed the drunk driver until the police caught them, feeling a great sense of accomplishment.

"His role is really the opposite in real life. It must have been so challenging," Shin Hye Sun commented. On the other hand, "Brave Citizen" premiered on October 25, and is now screening in cinemas nationwide!
